I love Jill's perspective on creativity and productivity and integrity - a total fan-girl. Thank you for this interview and a glimpse into her newest thinking into these.
Such a necessary read! I personally been very caught up in the "shoulds" lately and this was a good reminder to focus more on the joy I get from the creative process — and maybe to make more monkey noises in conversations.
This is so great! I love the idea of identifying "three phases where you might be at present: Roots, Shoots, and Blooms. I love these metaphors because they highlight that we’re more like gardens than machines, each phase nurturing our growth at its own pace."
The monkey sounds frame this conversation in a lovely way... thanks for all the beautiful gems of creative clarity you have unearthed in this conversation!
No, thank YOU Jill... you did the bulk of the work! I got to be spontaneous and ask whatever I wanted, whereas you had to actually *think* about your answers! Good thing you were well up to the task ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Thank you both for this amazing and inspiring conversation. Even after working with Jill for a few years, this was illuminating. I even took notes! 😁 Brava to both of you for your continued commitment to your creative passions. 🩵
Wow, that was inspiring and grounding to read. This is just what I needed at a time when I have been feeling creatively burnt out and unsure how to reconnect with my creative self and that joy. This perspective shift is a powerful one. Thank you both!!

Haha--the monkey noises are clearly the most important take-away. Thanks Athena!
I love a lot of things in this newsletter but I PARTICULARLY love the re-framing of consistency to be defined by who we are and not what we do.
Indeed. I'm kind of clinging to that one 😅.
