HNY Betty Ann! Thanks for all the great info here, I visited all the links. And wow, you have read a lot of books this past year! I can't put my finger on it but I am finally feeling like make some new art. Maybe it had something to do with the program I was taking (which I have not finished) or joining a CrossFit gym! Perhaps all the physical workouts I'm doing has jostled my artist brain! I hope you"flip over" soon!
Beautiful post, as usual! I always tell myself that I'll keep a running list of all the books I read, but I never do. How did you motivate yourself to do it? And to put it into such a beautiful format? Also, thanks for mentioning Noted :)
Thank you Jillian. The reason I have a record of some of the books I've read is that I use a quarterly planner designed and produced by my good friend Jill (a great writer who recently started a *new* newsletter called The Creative Goods: https://thecreativegoods.substack.com/). After each week there's a section in the planner where you can write down what you've been reading, watching, listening to... what you noticed, how you felt, what was noteworthy, et cetera. Of course, I go AWOL for weeks at a time and nothing gets written down, so I did also have to stare at the bookshelf and try to jog my memory as to what I read. As for the "beautiful format" (barely legible, ha ha)—I felt like this post was pretty minimal so I thought I'd spice it up a little. Also, literally the most ink work I've done in months! It felt so good to dip a brush into a jar of ink!
You neglected to include Cobra Kai Season 5 on your viewing list my friend.
Judas!
how dare you
Ha ha
