Synchronicity. I just finished reading a book about our inner life through dream work and active imagination. Using active imagination via the journal would be beautiful! We can access some of our unlived parts of life or characteristics of ourselves that we long for by opening a conversation through the journal. ;-)
Absolutely! That is indeed the beautiful thing about the journal... there are endless ways to employ it. It's whatever you want and need it to be... it's whatever you put into it.
Yes 🙌🏽 active imagination is SO powerful. We can engage with anything this way. I enjoy Arnold Mindell’s books combining physics, psychotherapy, and shamanism.
YES! I'm a huge fan of this process, and your lovely graphical way of prompting us. It's as if the universe is here to help, if we only ask. As I sit with my journal this morning, I'm gonna ask an irritating aspect of a certain someone else's personality 🤣
In the novel, "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow," a troubled main character asks his dead friend how to respond to life. His responses are clear, heartfelt, and ring true...
Damn, I'm always hearing such good things about that book (Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow), but have yet to read it. My birthday's coming up... 😅
And yes, I think we intuitively know a LOT, but it's often much more convenient to turn a blind eye. You have to *want* to know, if you know what I mean. And if you want to know... try asking!
Yes! May I remember to slow down, tune in, and ask - rather than letting my busy Monkeys (what you call monster?) run the show.
Think you’ll love “Tomorrow.” Lots of cool insights about creative process – and relationships. I’m savoring the last few pages before it goes back to the library.
I've never really tried to describe exactly what the monster is that I'm feeding, but I don't think it's the same as busy monkeys. Busy monkeys sounds like the brain on overdrive. The Monster is the brain for sure, but I'm going to say it's also the heart, and maybe even the gut as well. When you're feeding the monster you're following your interests and exploring what you're curious about. You're nourishing yourself with art and writing and whatever else you love.
I know you didn't ask for all that! You just got me thinking about it...

Getting closer to thinking that journaling might be THE thing …
❤️🔥100% THE THING ❤️🔥

I love this idea… that we are our own experts, and are an under utilized resource for consult
Exactly! I like your take on it: "an under utilized resource for consult". Consult thyself!
