Life! And the finite of it… very very motivational! Plus laughter, spring, throwing caution to the winds, not giving a damn…well, just a little damn, and embracing who I am. As always BA, you kind of allow me to roar!
Thank you Kristine, you of the most heartening comments! Laughter, spring, throwing caution to the wind, not giving a damn, embracing who you are... WHAT'S NOT TO LIKE???
Fantastic. I'm curious about how the ink and watercolour is going! (I've only used watercolour once or twice, and many years ago). And I love this: "the sorcery of other creators of functional and aesthetic objects" ❤️🔥. Sorcery indeed.
Do you Instagram? I'm posting my progress there every 5 days. As someone with no history of drawing or painting (even as a child) I have no expectations, which helps a lot! I definitely find a flow state when I'm drawing or painting which is a surprise to me - I can site for a long time with it. And, I'm delighted to discover that even I can make abstract shapes that can be pressed into representational service through the use of specific techniques and details. I have 30 small (4 x 6) paintings/drawings so far and another 70 to go :)
Yes, I instagram, and it appears that I follow you! I'm on there less and less, it seems... I usually only go on IG once a month to post about Feed the Monster, and I go through bursts of posting stories.
Having no expectations definitely helps! I don't get too worked up about writing because I don't think of myself as a writer, but I can definitely have too many expectations about my artwork because I'm *supposed to be* an artist. DUMB.
It’s my 4th year doing it. I'm trying out collage this time. It’s way more time consuming and mess making. But I’m intrigued by the process. Here’s my Instagram if you’re interested.
Thanks BA . Your work is lovely and amazing and I want to do your journaling workshop!
Thank you Geneva!

Oooh “rooting around for Flo-way” love it.
Just spent a long time looking through your visual memoir. So moving. Intense and beautiful. Thanks for sharing here!
Oh my, thank you very much ❤️🔥
There was something about seeing my newsletter name in YOUR HANDWRITING that made me feel so happy just now. Thank you BA!
NICE! That in turn made *me* feel all warm and gushy, haha 🥰
* Learning about ink and watercolour as part of my 100 day project
* Being drawn into the bookbinding rabbithole (and offshoot of my 100-day-project since I wanted to make my own watercolour books)
* The sorcery of other creators of functional and aesthetic objects
* The arrival of spring sounds
* Dreaming about creative retreats in my (retirement) future
* A life without having a million things scheduled
* Time in my studio which ever expands to hold my fascinations and projects.

100 Day Project
Reminding myself to stay in the present moment
The weather (even though the pollen count is very high)
Watching artist process videos on YouTube (not the how-to but the what-for)
Feeling better after being sick for 2 weeks
The cousins group chat
Newsletters (pretty much the ones you mentioned plus Maggie Smith the poet)
Looking at knitting patterns—knitting
Wonderful, thank you! I love seeing all that! What are you doing for the 100 Day Project? (I did it in 2015 but haven't done it since).
