I think this body of work is excellent. Thought providing and bound to ring true for many readers, this art is moving on many levels and I applaud Betty-Ann Lampman
for creating it and then sharing it with the world. 🦊👏👏👏
I don't know nearly enough about art to know good from not good, but I do know that your art (including your writing) does very good things to my brain. Your technical skill is so thoroughly infused with a lifetime of relentless, courageous, deep inner work; thank you, thank you for so generously sharing both. I look forward to seeing your work in person in 2022.
Love the multi-panel piece. Your work speaks to the importance of story telling as a way of sorting through, unpacking, processing. I live the Didion quote also as it is 100% to figure things out. How else would I know what I think. Thanks for another thought-provoking newsletter.
Thank you Betty-Ann. Your visual art gets into the tentatively held together parts of my brain and heart. And leaves an echo….uncomfortable but necessary.
I like the drawing at the top with the stormy tornado brain. I know that feeling well. Loving the colours, graphic quality, and narrative of the big multi-panel piece.

Thanks so much Mary
That Didion quote-—damn, I needed that.

Thank you so much, Renée.
Yes, when I first saw that Didion quote a few years back, it was very affirming. Nothing like Joan Didion having your back!
If you haven't already, check out the Joan Didion doc, The Center Will Not Hold. It is moving and cerebrally stimulating
I haven't, but I will. Thank you!
When you speak, you speak to me. Thank you.
Thank you Joanne.
"I credit writing with liberating me..." Yes, yes, a thousand times, yes. Such a great post. It resonates with me on many levels.
Thank you so much, Shelley
Beautiful writing and images, and meaning! Thank you!
Thank you Geneva!
Love the colours in the wall piece too. Cheerful at first glance and then weirdly jarring upon further inspection.
Thanks Dotty xo

Thank you for your poetic response!
