You have a lot of exciting things brewing, but I think all of your readers here will wait patiently whenever you're in the flow. Whether it's a month apart or two months apart, we're here! I read your work because it's written by you and not because you're writing it for me. Thank you for sharing more behind-the-scenes videos today too! I thoroughly enjoyed them!
Hi from an old fan and rare commenter ;) I’ve had a year ‘of life’ that’s stopped my painting cold. I’m trying to get back. A touching stone has been the monthly drop of Feed the Monster, my favourite read. I’ve even been peeking back in on Instagram lately to see what you’re up to. Cheers to the New Year and being back in creative output! (hanging onto it tooth and nail)
My God Dawn, you are ALWAYS so sweet and kind! I'm sorry to hear about your year... yes, LIFE can certainly stop creative output sometimes---we've all seen it. Sometimes it's best to stop struggling, and stay still. Accept what's happening. And slowly, slowly, the work will eventually start to come back.
Thank you for the tour & for your candour. There is something about being guided through your space, seeing the work in progress and hearing about what has been hard that feels like medicine. Or maybe it feels like art; which IS medicine. What I mean to say is the way in which you lay yourself bare, whether through polished work in a show or through an intimate walk amidst your space at a particularly difficult moment in time is MOVING.
Thanks for the studio video. I keep meaning to make one of my studio, but there are always reasons I don't! I am also in a weirdly non-producing period when it comes to writing at the moment, but I put stuff on the weaving looms to keep me occupied until my brain starts working again. Always good to see you in my inbox :) We will all get to wherever we are going, no matter how long it takes to get there (how's that for non-specific cheerleading).
I look forward to your posts and I think you are the shit...the real, sometimes sweet and sometimes salty, interesting, complicated, hilarious, talented, weird, shit.
I’m in the same place creatively. This year has been a complete shit-show—in EVERY WAY—sorry for yelling.
Very interested in the journaling workshop. I’ve taken journaling up again more regularly and am curious about going in a different direction with the writing.

Thank you so much Maki!
