Your process is as compelling as the work itself. And "LEAN TOWARD WHAT YOU LOVE—not what you mistakenly assume other people will prefer. M-KAY?" is exactly what I needed to read today.

Another terrific newsletter, B. A.!

As always, an intriguing read. I love that you have busted a few of those prison bars. That alone is worth a big celebratory cake…perhaps with a file baked inside!

Despite seeing this work out in your studio regularly, I must say I very much enjoyed this summary. It provides an overview and perspective and seeing all the work together along with your commentary provides great insight into the evolution and movement of your approach and narrative. It's like I watched you start making a jigsaw puzzle, left the room and when I came back I could see what it was going to be. I think there's some good T-shirt marketing ideas bubbling up here..... I Am Small And They Are Large And Drunk. That shit is gold.

Having a sense of the process of the project from your vantage point behind the bars only serves to intensify the impact of each element.

Wow, B.A.! Your life story with your Mother is amazing. I would love to see more and read more of your ‘story’. It must feel lethargic, draining even, to re-live and draw out, so to speak, some of your past. Frankly, I relate to just about everything you write and draw about growing up with your Mother. As I experienced similar personalities in my dear Mother. I won’t go into the gory details. God rest her soul (d. 2018). Keep going!
