I really enjoyed the collage workshops—will be back at some point. Ukuele and knitting seem to be taking up my time. Along with all the fuckery right now in the wider world. 🤷♀️
After The Husband died two years ago I made an effort to find some sort of community—not friends exactly—just nice people doing things I loved. It helps to see real people doing real things! And your classes offer that! So thanks!
I’ve had similar thoughts about Substack lately, and it also corresponds with doing more things in-person and with people (participating in an art show, taking figure drawing classes, making things more often than writing about making things!). My social life also never fully returned to what it was pre-pandemic and I FINALLY feel like that balance is starting to shift back to something approaching normal. I’m glad you’re finding joy in your workshops! The collages look great.
Thanks so much, Talia. I have no plans to leave Substack, but I feel like I need a fresh recalibration so that I might enjoy it for what it brings me without losing my mind over gaining new subscribers, et cetera. REAL LIFE RULES! 😅

Oh man, thanks Pamela. That means a lot.
Who would have ever guessed that getting people together to do creative and productive activities would be more nourishing than Substack?
I certainly never would have guessed
I guess you are human after all!
Good news for you, my daughter
